Rooted in craftsmanship and guided by intention, Designs by Elle is a woman-owned leather studio specializing in handmade leather goods. Drawing from a background in architecture, our creations are designed with an appreciation for proportion,
structure, and purposeful form.
Each piece is meticulously handcrafted, blending time-honored techniques with thoughtful, modern design and made in small batches from premium
materials.
At the heart of Designs by Elle is the belief that true luxury lies in connection. Each piece is designed to tell your story, shaped by touch, marked by experience, and uniquely reflective of the person who carries it. Handmade with purpose, every creation redefines
luxury as something that is felt rather than flaunted.
Our Story
Spending a majority of her childhood in the Chicago area and eventually settling in Colorado has helped shaped owner and founder Elle’s unique aesthetic style. With a background in architecture and a passion for travel, she is inspired by the built environment and rich cultural experiences gained from travel.
Leather
Our leather is sustainably sourced from the USA and around the world. We use high quality vegetable tanned leather that is processed without the use of harsh chemicals to ensure each piece will age with beauty and last a lifetime.
Starting with great quality materials is as important as the craftsmanship put into each piece created in our studio. All pieces are handcrafted and handmade here in the United States.
How to clean and protect
Over time and use, dirt and build-up may occur. The best way to clean your leather goods is by wiping down with a soft fabric such as cotton. If water spills on your leather, it can dry naturally or wipe with clean cloth. Do not apply heat such as a hairdryer to the leather as this can cause warping.
A leather conditioner can be used to moisturize the leather and protect it from wrinkles and drying out. We recommend Smith’s Leather Balm. It is recommended to apply a conditioner at least twice a year.
